The purpose of this channel is teach mathematics to people all around the world. I have made over 500 videos in topics ranging from Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus and SAT Math. As I continue to study mathematics, I hope to add more topics in advanced College-Level Mathematics.
About me:
I have a Bachelors in Mathematics and a Masters in Adolescent Education for Mathematics. While pursuing both degrees, I took a total of 17 math classes.
Pursuing a degree in mathematics helped me build confidence and gave me direction in life. I believe that through hard work, anyone can achieve proficiency in this mathematics, and the other subjects as well. However, one needs to be willing to get the same problem wrong 100 times or more before understanding it.
This channel helped me secure a job as a high school math teacher, so I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all my subscribers!
Fun Fact: I am a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

5th Grade Math Test - NY 2024
In this video I go through the 5th grade NY State Math Test from 2024. For this practice test, I cover a variety of 5th grade math topics such as decimals, multiplying decimals, adding/subtracting mixed numbers, multiplying/dividing mixed numbers, fractions, operations with fractions, line plots, converting units of measure, volume, area, fraction word problems.

I have been working as an electrical engineer for 5 years but want to go back to school to finish my math major after abandoning it for the higher paying degree. I’ve always had a passion for math and teaching but a huge career change in my life is scary. I’m in my 20s so I’m young enough to take that risk but that fear is preventing me from following my passion.

What topic(s) were most challenging? This is part of the game. I had a few math tests in my day that fell short of the 65 mark. Take some time to rest, then get back to the grind. I believe in you!
I passed! I took the geometry regents and I got a 74! I couldn’t thank you enough, this was a regents I’ve been so stressed on especially since I failed last year. My goal is to get an advanced regents diploma and this was the only test I needed to get it. I can’t thank you enough for all the study guides you’ve posted. Update:So I got an 85 on the geometry regents and a 73 on the chemistry regents and I didn’t finish everything on my geometry regents as well as I also got extra time, so it isn’t that good,but I passed though! Still haven’t gone my results for global. Contemplating if I should retake both of the regents in August because the scores are not that great.Anyways Mr Vin,Thank you so much for being so patient with us during the live as I know it was very hard for you to go back and forward between the stream and doing the questions as well as being so interactive with us during it. You really helped by simplifying concepts down very easily for us and taking your time to go step by step through diagrams and option elimination, you definitely helped me pass.
An 85 on Geometry is a mastery level score, nice job! I am happy to help! I have a lot of fun doing the live streams-it's nice to have a lot of student present that are committed to learning!

The junior and drives to school probability one was confusing
IKR, I was stuck on that one!
That one was super light. To find out if they were independent, you needed to find the probability of being a junior, then find the probability of a junior GIVEN that they drive. The answers for both did not match up, so the events were NOT independent.
It was not independent
The probability questions can be very tricky! Remember this Abraham Lincoln quote: Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. For questions like that, you have to spend a lot of time making sense of what is going on. The actual math is simple, but the setup is difficult.

The test only shows where you were today! Keep practicing and you will do the cooking.

@@FNBRVolts Okay so basically for k i got -0.958 (something like that that), 88 degrees and 3.3 hours. All you have to do is plug in the numbers in the correct spot!
@@bangers3816 not what I got at all, I got .500 for k, i think 68 degrees and 2.2 hours (I think) you had to do all the natural log calculation and stuff idk. I know I plugged in correctly I triple checked

I didn't, it didnt ask for, but now I'm worried, I wrote in pencil, not pen, and wrote things around as notes but didn't erase them. 😭
It just said to state the equation. I got X=1 and Y=1 for the two questions on that page
Probably not, but if u made it clear in your drawing that the graph did not reach x=1, then you should be good
